In 2008, when I lost my job and quickly saw my savings dwindle, I needed to figure out what to do. One day, I came across a "Hobo" art exhibit and was fascinated and inspired by the resilience, resourcefulness, and creativity of the artists who created art out of nothing to survive. This gave me a new perspective. From that moment, I decided I would not feel sorry for myself or let my situation take me down or make me conform. I knew that my love of fashion and styling was my art form, and I was determined to survive. Thus, Hobo Jane was born.

Hi
I’m Sara Jane, a.k.a “Hobo Jane”
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story will set you apart……. Welcome to the HoboJane Tribe.
A little about me….
Transplanted from Detroit, I've been in Long Beach for 35 years. I’ve lived in an 8-block radius from my shop's location for many years, so yeah, I'm a local. I have two amazing kids and two crazy cats, and I only drink red wine—because why settle for anything less? If I'm not in the shop, you'll probably find me at a local happy hour or art show, because that's just how I roll. I love fun and funky items but mostly live in basics, jazzing it up with accessories.
LBC Tip of the Day: Hop on the Aqualink, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy the waterside happy hour. Trust me, it's worth it.
